Regular immigration law
Our assistance
Immigration law can be divided into asylum law and regular immigration law. Asylum law applies if an alien can no longer return to his country of origin for security reasons. However, most aliens are not asylum seekers, but want to legally reside in the Netherlands for another reason. Think of family reunification or people who would like to come to the Netherlands to work or study.
Regular immigration law therefore regulates the rights and obligations of persons who do not have Dutch nationality.
Since ASV Advocatenkantoor wants to focus on regular immigration law, no asylum cases are handled.
One of the agencies you will have to deal with in regular immigration law is the IND. The IND issues a visa or a temporary residence permit. Our office can advise you on the application to the IND or submit the entire application for you. If the application is rejected, the office will be happy to assist you in the objection and appeal procedure.
Foreigners who also reside in the Netherlands without a residence permit can be given a detention order. This is a far-reaching consequence in which the foreigner is placed in a closed institution with the aim of being deported to the country of origin. An appeal against a detention order can be lodged with the court by the lawyer.
